Faithful Captain LLC develops and operates the Faithful Captain Bible study app and the Faithful Captain website.

Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Faithful Captain handles information when you use the Faithful Captain app, visit our website, contact us, or choose to interact with optional advertising.
Faithful Captain is designed to minimize the amount of personal information that Faithful Captain itself receives. The app does not require a Faithful Captain user account for normal use.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Faithful Captain is designed so that private Bible-study activity and personal app information can remain stored locally on your device.
Depending on the features you use, locally stored information may include:
- Bible reading and study progress;
- personal notes and reflections;
- prayer-related content;
- quiz progress or responses;
- collected cards and reward status;
- app preferences and settings; and
- similar personal study information or app state.
Faithful Captain does not intentionally transmit the substance of your private notes, prayers, reflections, search activity, quiz answers, or detailed Bible-reading activity to advertising providers, campaign partners, or third-party analytics systems.
If you use Focused Daily Verse, your selected subject and intensity are stored only on your device. Faithful Captain does not receive that selection or provide it to creators, nonprofits, advertisers, analytics services, or notification content.
On Android, Faithful Captain excludes its private application data from cloud backup and device-transfer backup. On iOS, Focused Daily Verse preferences are stored in the app's private, non-cache Application Support storage and are explicitly excluded from iCloud and device backup.
Because locally stored information is not maintained in a Faithful Captain account or remote user profile, Faithful Captain generally cannot retrieve, restore, or remotely delete that information. Local information may be removed if you clear the app's data, uninstall the app, reset your device, or otherwise delete the locally stored information.
Information Faithful Captain May Receive
Faithful Captain may receive or process limited information in the following circumstances.
Support and communications
If you contact Faithful Captain, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, attachments you choose to provide, and information reasonably necessary to respond to your request.
Website and infrastructure information
When you visit the Faithful Captain website, hosting, networking, or security providers may automatically process technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and security-related information necessary to deliver, protect, and maintain the website.
Advertising information
After applicable advertising privacy choices are handled, Faithful Captain may ask Google AdMob to preload one rewarded advertisement so it can open promptly if you later choose the optional experience. Preloading never displays an advertisement, grants a reward, consumes eligibility, or changes normal Bible-study access. An advertisement is displayed only after a separate affirmative user action.
During advertising loading or viewing, Google AdMob and participating advertising partners may process information such as:
- IP address;
- device or account identifiers;
- app and advertisement interactions;
- advertising and campaign information;
- diagnostic and performance information; and
- general location inferred from an IP address.
This information may be used to deliver advertisements, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud and invalid traffic, and maintain advertising systems. Faithful Captain requests non-personalized rewarded advertisements and does not request or access Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
Faithful Captain does not provide your private notes, prayers, reflections, search terms, quiz answers, or detailed Bible-reading history to Google AdMob or advertising partners for these purposes.
Optional Rewarded Advertising
Faithful Captain may offer optional rewarded advertisements that unlock clearly identified in-app content.
Before an advertisement begins, the app identifies the in-app reward available after completion. You may decline the advertisement without losing normal Bible-reading or study functionality.
No advertiser click, purchase, download, installation, registration, or other advertiser interaction is required to receive the disclosed reward after completing the applicable rewarded advertisement.
Privacy Choices
Faithful Captain provides privacy and advertising choices according to your device, region, and applicable law.
In the Faithful Captain app: Open Settings → Privacy Choices to view available advertising privacy controls.
Other privacy requests: Contact Admin@faithfulcaptain.com to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or another privacy right available under applicable law.
How Information Is Used
Faithful Captain may use information it receives to:
- provide and maintain the app and website;
- provide a disclosed reward after completion of an optional rewarded advertisement;
- respond to support requests and communications;
- maintain security and prevent fraud, abuse, or invalid advertising activity;
- diagnose technical problems and maintain reliability;
- administer Featured Creator and Featured Mission campaigns;
- maintain appropriate financial, campaign, and business records; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Faithful Captain does not use private spiritual activity to create advertising profiles or target advertisements based on a person's religious beliefs or spiritual activity.
Legal Bases for Processing in Applicable International Jurisdictions
Where laws such as the European Union General Data Protection Regulation or United Kingdom data-protection law require a legal basis for processing personal data, Faithful Captain relies on one or more of the following, depending on the activity:
Consent. For advertising personalization, tracking, device storage or access, or similar processing when applicable law requires consent.
Legitimate interests. To operate and secure the service, respond to requests, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain reliability, and conduct ordinary business operations where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Steps requested by you or performance of an agreement. When processing is reasonably necessary to provide a feature or service you request.
Legal obligations. When information must be processed or retained to comply with applicable law, legal process, accounting requirements, or regulatory obligations.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent through the applicable privacy control. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
Sharing and Third-Party Services
Faithful Captain does not sell personal information for money.
Faithful Captain may use service providers for functions such as website hosting, security, email, app distribution, advertising, and customer support. Service providers acting on Faithful Captain's behalf are expected to protect personal information consistently with applicable contractual and legal requirements.
Google AdMob and participating advertising partners may independently process advertising-related information as described in this Privacy Policy and under their own privacy notices, consent mechanisms, and legal obligations.
Faithful Captain may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or government authority, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, security, or safety of Faithful Captain, its users, or others.
Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising Under U.S. State Privacy Laws
Faithful Captain does not sell personal information in exchange for money.
Some U.S. privacy laws define terms such as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising broadly enough that certain advertising-provider disclosures may fall within those definitions even when no money is paid for the information itself.
Where applicable law gives you the right to opt out of such processing, you may exercise available advertising choices through Privacy Choices in the Faithful Captain app or contact Faithful Captain using the information below.
Where applicable law requires Faithful Captain to recognize a legally valid universal opt-out mechanism and such a signal is received in a context controlled by Faithful Captain, Faithful Captain will honor the signal as required by law.
Faithful Captain will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and whether the applicable privacy law applies to Faithful Captain's processing, you may have rights including:
- requesting information about personal data Faithful Captain maintains about you;
- accessing or obtaining a copy of personal data;
- correcting inaccurate personal data;
- requesting deletion of personal data;
- requesting data portability;
- withdrawing consent;
- objecting to or restricting certain processing;
- opting out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling;
- using an authorized agent where permitted by law; and
- filing a complaint with an applicable privacy or data-protection authority.

Faithful Captain may take reasonable steps to verify a request before providing, correcting, or deleting personal information.
Because Faithful Captain does not require an account and much of the app's personal study information remains only on your device, Faithful Captain may not possess enough information to identify you or retrieve locally stored information. If Faithful Captain cannot reasonably identify data associated with you, we will explain that when responding to your request.
Where applicable law provides a right to appeal a privacy-request decision, you may submit an appeal by replying to Faithful Captain's decision or contacting Admin@faithfulcaptain.com with the subject Privacy Appeal.
Data Retention and Deletion
Faithful Captain retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, subject to legitimate security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements.
Locally stored app data remains on your device until removed through the app or device, clearing app data, uninstalling the app, or otherwise deleting the device data.
Support communications may be retained while necessary to respond to the request, maintain an appropriate record of the interaction, resolve disputes, protect legal rights, or satisfy applicable legal requirements.
Website and security information may be retained by relevant infrastructure providers according to their applicable security and retention practices.
Advertising information may be processed and retained by Google and participating advertising partners according to their applicable advertising, consent, privacy, fraud-prevention, and retention requirements.
Faithful Captain may retain aggregate, de-identified, financial, campaign, and accounting records where they no longer identify an individual or where retention is reasonably necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes.
Security
Faithful Captain uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information involved.
Faithful Captain also minimizes risk by keeping private spiritual activity locally on the user's device whenever practical and by limiting information transmitted to third-party services.
No electronic system, network, or method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
International Processing and Transfers
Faithful Captain and the service providers used to operate the app, website, email, and advertising services may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer of personal data, the transfer will be handled using a lawful mechanism applicable to the relevant processing, which may include an adequacy determination, contractual safeguards, or another mechanism recognized by applicable law.
You may contact Faithful Captain for additional information regarding international processing applicable to personal information controlled by Faithful Captain.
Children
Faithful Captain is intended for teenagers and adults and is not designed or directed to children under 13.
Faithful Captain does not knowingly request or intentionally collect personal information directly from children under 13.
In jurisdictions where a person must be older than 13 to independently consent to particular processing, users below the applicable age should not provide personal information or consent to such processing without any authorization required by local law.
A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information to Faithful Captain may contact Admin@faithfulcaptain.com so the matter can be reviewed and addressed as required by applicable law.
Automated Decision-Making
Faithful Captain does not use personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning users.
Advertising providers may use automated systems to determine which advertisement is displayed, subject to applicable privacy choices and advertising-provider practices.
Changes to This Policy
Faithful Captain may update this Privacy Policy as the app, website, service providers, or legal requirements change.
When a material change is made, the effective date shown above will be updated. Additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law.
